When I started blogging, I didn’t know what blogging platform to use. There were many choices in Fantastico to install. I don’t remember why I preferred WordPress over the other when I don’t have a single idea about WordPress then. Now I know I made the right choice. I so love WordPress! There are plenty of themes and plugins to choose from.
I tested every themes and plugin I found interesting. I also became hooked on designing my first ever WP theme. And because it consumes most of my time by uploading everything to my server, I googled on how I can install WordPress in Windows XP. I saw Geeks are Sexy’s detailed tutorial on Installing WordPress Locally Under Windows XP. She’s using XAMPP lite for Windows but I already have EasyPHP installed in my system. EasyPHP and XAMPP are applications that install Apache, MySQL, and PHP on Windows, making your PC into a server, capable of running scripts locally.
With EasyPHP already installed, I downloaded WP and set-up the database. It was as easy as 1-2-3! In no time, I have an offline blog, my test blog that looks exactly like my online blog.
I had fun exploring and testing everything! Here you can read my post on Installing WordPress Locally Using EasyPHP.
And here are the Benefits of Local WordPress Install
- You can play around with themes and plugins without breaking online blog.
- It saves time and bandwidth since you don’t have to consistently upload the changes on your server.
- You can test drive and explore the latest WordPress release.

Hubby and I enrolled Sean in a Day Care Center two blocks away from our house. We were excited ‘coz it’s his first time to go to school. We were told that he will be interviewed by the teacher. We’re a bit worried at first that he might not answer his teacher because sometimes he [...]
